Jack Ashby Jack is the Manager of the Grant Museum of Zoology at UCL, developing the Museum as both a valuable academic resource and an excellent venue for public engagement.

Gabriel Brostow Gabriel Brostow is an Assoc. Prof. in Computer Vision at UCL, specialising in human-in-the-loop machine learning.

Austin Brown Austin leads Arup’s London ecology team. His work includes masterplan design, EIA and strategic plans at both the policy and scheme level. Previously he spent time working for the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation on a number of restoration projects.

Alison Fairbrass Alison is an Engineering Doctoral student at University College London, developing acoustic technology for monitoring biodiversity in the urban environment. She is affiliated with the Center for Urban Sustainability and Resilience, Center for Biodiversity and Environment Research, and sponsored by the Bat Conservation Trust.

Michael Firman Michael is a computer science researcher who has a keen interest in finding machine learning solutions for ecological problems.

Mathew Frith Mathew is the Director of Conservation at London Wildlife Trust and he has worked for the Trust since 1989. His principal role is the oversight of the Trust’s nature reserves, conservation policy and advocacy for London’s wild spaces.

Sarah Gallacher Sarah is a creative technologist at Intel Labs Europe who loves designing and developing new technologies that connect the physical and digital worlds.

Julia Hanmer Julia is the Joint Chief Executive of the Bat Conservation Trust and first starting working with bats in 1998 on the London Bat Project. Julia has more than 17 years’ experience of developing and leading conservation projects in the UK.

Natalie Hall Natalie works as an Ecologist at ARUP, and has experience of conservation management in relation to infrastructure projects, and protected species including bats.

Kate Jones Kate is a Professor of Ecology and Biodiversity at the Centre for Biodiversity and Environmental Research (CBER) at UCL. Kate looks at the impact of global change on biodiversity and loves bats!

Stefan Keitmeyer Stefan is a web developer and designer based in Berlin.

Oisin Mac Aodha Oisin is a post-doctoral researcher at the California Institute of Technology. He helped build the machine learning components of the smart bat monitoring system.

Aimee McIntosh Aimee is an Ecology researcher, and an MRes Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation graduate at UCL. She also holds a BSc in Biology from Imperial College London.

Yvonne Rogers Yvonne Rogers is a Professor of Interaction Design, the director of UCLIC and the PI at UCL for the Intel Collaborative Research Institute on Urban Internet of Things which was launched in October 2012 as a joint collaboration with Imperial College, Intel, Future Cities Catapult and London Legacy Development Corporation.

Helena Titheridge Helena is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at UCL, Director of the Centre for Urban Sustainability and Resilience and a member of the Centre for Transport Studies.

Daniyar Turmukhambetov Daniyar is a post-doctoral researcher at UCL working on computer vision algorithms for image synthesis and machine learning models for audio-based animal detection and classification.

Carol Williams Carol is the Director of Conservation at the Bat Conservation Trust, who she has had the pleasure to work for since 2007. She has been involved in bat conservation for over 25 years and carried out a PhD on the winter ecology of lesser horseshoe bats.
